Great Yarmouth
Marine Parade is the vibrant focal point of Great Yarmouth’s seafront, where ice-cream cones and candy floss combine with sea and sand for the perfect seaside holiday.
Frequently called The Golden Mile, this wide beachside promenade features extra wide pavements so you can wander up and down as slowly or as quickly as you like, whilst admiring the sights and sounds of this vibrant seafront.
A stroll along Marine Parade passes Britannia Pier at the top, via crazy golf and the Marine Centre with indoor tropical pool, past Amazonia and the Sealife Centre to Wellington Pier in the middle, before arriving at Merrivale Model Village and Pleasure Beach which offers huge family fun from full-throttle white knuckle riders to water attractions and fun rides to keep the kids happy, at the southern end. The strip buzzes with activity, from crazy golf to bingo, diners, attractions, cafés, shops, amusements, bars, tearooms, restaurants and gardens are all here to entertain you.
You’ll find park benches and beach huts on the wide esplanade next to wide, sandy Central Beach where you can sit back and watch the world go by. Café areas spill out onto the esplanade for a bite to eat while looking out over the sea. On the beach, deck chairs, donkey rides and trips to see the seals are all on hand, for a traditional day or stay at the seaside.
The Greater Yarmouth coastline stretches along 15 miles of beautiful sandy beaches, perfect for all the traditional beach activities, past sand dunes and seaside amusements, taking in donkey rides and bouncy castles from winterton-on-sea in the north to Hopton-on-Sea in the South.

Great Yarmouth Central
A popular, busy, wide sandy beach situated between the Britannia and Wellington piers with promenades, cafes, shops, and much more. Sit back and watch the world go by on the Esplanade and Promenade. Deckchair hire and traditional children’s activities are available on the beach. Plenty to do whatever the weather including amusement arcades, this is the ideal location for a family day at the seaside.
Great Yarmouth North Beach
Great Yarmouth’s North Beach is a lovely sandy beach to the north of the seafront.
Great Yarmouth South Beach
Great Yarmouth’s South Beach is to the south of Wellington Pier. The wide sandy beach with its grassy sand dunes is ideal for families who want a quieter stretch of beach, whilst still being close to all the amenities and attractions that Great Yarmouth has to offer.
Scratby Beach
A long quiet sand and shingle beach found at the foot of low sand cliffs. Perfect for walks, with or without the dogs and long lazy days in the summer.
Caister-on-Sea South Beach
A popular beach holiday village Caister-on-Sea’s south beach has wide dunes which lead down to a glorious, unspoilt golden sandy beaches. Caister beaches can also present good opportunities for surfing, particularly during the quieter winter months, best when the offshore winds are west southwesterly.
Caister on Sea North Beach
Caister on Sea’s North Beach has a long concrete esplanade and sand dunes leading to a wide sandy, golden beach. Its amenities means Caister offers an ideal self-catering base.
California Beach
California Beach near Great Yarmouth is a lovely, wide, sand and shingle beach at the bottom of low sandy cliffs, merging with Scratby Beach. Peaceful and picturesque part of the coastline accessed via steep steps.
Hopton-on-sea Beach
This is a lovely wide sandy beach punctuated with groynes and runs alongside low grassy cliffs. Holiday Village customers have direct access to the beach from their resorts. Public access is via a slope.
Gorlston-on-Sea Beach
This is a safe bathing beach with a blue flag award, its sandy beach stretches into the distance below glorious cliff gardens and a grand promenade. You can also enjoy other activities such as windsurfing, tennis, bowling greens and children playground. It’s a bustling little resort ideal for beach lovers.
Winterton on Sea
A beautiful sandy and largely unspoilt beach with peaceful dunes, a much quieter resort with none of the amenities of the local towns and villages. Opportunity for nature lovers to spot the seal colony near by. There is a beach café for a snack or ice cream.
Hemsby Beach
A lively village resorts with shops amusements, attractions and cafes. It has a stunning wide, golden sandy beach and grassy dunes. A firm favourite with beach lovers.
